Augustus Taber Murray, also known as A. T. Murray, (b. October 29, 1866, New York City-d. March 8, 1940, San Francisco, California) was a university professor. He attended Haverford College and received his A.B. in 1885 and his LL.D. in 1931; and his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1890. Murray was a professor of Greek at Earlham College from 1888 to 1890 and at Colorado College from 1891 to 1892. At Stanford University, from 1892 to 1932, he was a professor of Greek and classical literature. He was also President of the College Park Association of Friends, and minister of Friends Meeting in Washington, D.C. from 1929 to 1934. He is the son of Robert Lindley and Ruth Shearman. He married Nella H. Gifford in 1891 and they had five children.
